Man Jailed for Stealing Malta Drink

On Tuesday, Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court Sentenced one Henry Okeke, 23, to Six (6) Months’ Imprisonment for Stealing Two (2) Cartons of Malta Guinness Drink and a Motorcycle , all valued at N155,000.   - Chief Magistrate O.A. Layinka in her judgment gave no option of fine to the convict tried for stealing. - “The accused is to serve his jail-term in Kirikiri Prison to serve as a deterrent to others,’’ she ruled. The unemployed accused is a resident of Abolaji Street, Mafoluku in Oshodi, a suburb of Lagos. - The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the convict was initially arraigned on July 18 . Then, he pleaded guilty to the offence and was subsequently remanded. - Earlier, the prosecutor, Sgt. Donjor Perezi, during the arraignment, had told the court that the accused committed the offence on July 13 at his residence. Perezi said that the accused was caught around 4 a.m. with two cartons of Malta Guinness Drink and one of his neighbour’s motor

Excerpts:   You have been away for a while. What happened? I have been everywhere. I only reduced the numbers of films I featured in and concentrated more on soap operas. And that was for two years.  I have also been working on my talk show that would soon hit television screen.   You joined the industry as a spinster. Would you say this affected your love life? I joined the industry when I was 21 and a graduate. Perhaps it did but I didn’t
