Three Counter Protester Stabbed during KKK Rally in Anaheim, California

In California, a Ku Klux Klan rally erupted into bloodshed Saturday when counter-protesters clashed with KKK members, leaving three people stabbed, one with the pole of a Confederate flag.
A total of 12 people were arrested following the bloody melee, including a Klan member suspected of using a flagpole to stab and critically wound a rival demonstrator.
Several counter-protesters were also taken into custody after stomping on two KKK members on the ground, authorities said.
One the stomping victims, who was more than 65-years-old garnered an elder abuse charge for three suspects.

A group of KKK members was heading for Pearson Park about 1:30 p.m. when rival protesters set upon the contingent.

Two of the people stabbed were reported to be counterprotesters.

Anaheim Sgt. Daron Wyatt said the Klansmen didn’t stand a chance against the mob of rival demonstrators and as soon as they got out of their vehicle, immediately they were attacked by counter-protesters and this caused a melee down the block.
The apprehended suspects were identified as San Francisco resident Charles Edward Donner, 51; Anaheim resident Marquis DeShawn Turner, 20; and Lakewood resident Randy Omacc Felder, 25; each of whom face assault charges.

Nicole Rae Schop, 24, Mark Anthony Liddell, 26, both of Los Angeles, face elder abuse in the stomping of a KKK member.
Hug Contreras, 38, of Hawthorne, was also charged with elder abuse.
Four detained protesters were released after officers watched video of the violent encounter.
One Klan member grabbed a Confederate flag and used the end of its pole to stab a counter-protester, witnesses said. The victim was rushed to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Some of the Klansmen sprinted back to their car and sped away, leaving behind a small group that fled down the block.
An angry mob chased after them screaming “Get out of here!” and “You’re not welcome!”

Protesters were spotted stomping on one Klansman wearing a “Grand Dragon” shirt.

Two counter protesters wrestled with a KKK member.

“It was crazy,” Dion Garcia, 37, told Reuters. “A lot of us were trying to break it up. This was not necessary, they should’ve just let the Klan protest. This is America, we have free speech.”
Levin, a former NYPD cop, said he helped the kicked KKK member escape the mob.
Afterward, Levin said, he asked the man a pointed question — “How do you feel that a Jewish guy just saved your life?”
In all, six Klansmen were arrested in connection with the three stabbings and seven counter-protesters were suspected of attacking KKK members.

Luis Sinco/AP Enlarge Anaheim police said that 13 people were arrested, including 6 Klansman and 7 counter protesters, as a result of the violent scuffle.

Anaheim police sent out a tweet Friday saying the department was aware of the upcoming KKK protest.
But there were conflicting reports over whether officers were on the scene when the violence erupted.
Chris Barker, the self-styled “imperial wizard” of the Loyal White Knights of the KKK, told the local ABC affiliate his members were holding a peaceful anti-immigration demonstration and acted in self-defense.

“If we’re attacked, we will attack back,” said Barker, who did not attend the rally and spoke by phone from North Carolina.

The violence in Anaheim came just two days after it was widely publicized that former KKK Grand Wizard David Duke was backing Donald Trump for President.

The former Klansman and 1992 presidential hopeful said on his radio program Thursday that not voting for the GOP front-runner would be “treason to your heritage.”

A smartwatch that tracks your every move

Future smartwatches will be able to better analyse and understand  our activities by automatically discovering when we engage in some new type of activity. London Scientists have created a new algorithm that enables smartwatches to not only record your exercise session but also detect when you are brushing your teeth or cooking, an advance that will provide a richer and more accurate picture of your daily life. Current smartwatches can recognise a limited number of particular activities, including yoga and running, but these are programmed in advance. The new method, developed by researchers from University of Sussex in the UK, enables the technology to discover activities as they happen, not just simply when exercising, but also when brushing your teeth or cutting vegetables. Traditional models "cluster" together bursts of activity to estimate what a person has been doing, and for how long, researchers said. For example, a series of continuous steps may be clustered i...
